When it comes to drip irrigation in alfalfa, we make 14 cuts a year, while with gravity irrigation we normally do only 8 to 10. What’s the difference? With Netafim drip irrigation, you irrigate and by the third or fourth day you can cut again. But with gravity irrigation, after watering, we have to wait a minimum of 10 to 12 days. We lose those days, which by the end of the year means 2 or 3 fewer cuts.
